This weekend starts a very active month for the Motor City Bears as we kick off the Wall-2-Wall Fur Bear Conclave Weekend 5.0 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and “Da bears are comin'!”
If you're not familiar, the bears of S.E. Michigan, S.W. Ontario and N.E. Ohio are descending on our home bar, Diamond Jim’s Saloon, for a weekend for a great time and “lots of fur!!!” Invitations have gone out to bears as far away as West Virginia and Iowa, to Minnesota to Kentucky and all parts in between to converge on Diamond Jim’s Saloon this weekend and it's going to be a blast. We’re going to show all the out-of-town guests just how the Bears have fun with fur in the Motor City!

All Weekend: Jim will have a whole menu of different "shooter specials" to whet your whistle. Just pawin’ at all that fur will be enough to work up a terrible thirst, and Jim will be prepared to handle all the parched Cowboys and Bears in the bar.

Friday Night: Friday will kick off with the Bears and Cowboys mingling with Diamond Jim’s “enhanced” Cowboy/Cowbear Kick-Ass Friday Night, with DJ “Eric” and dance instructor Fred making it happen.
The Motor City Bears will be providing light snacks and finger foods to keep your energy up as you paw, scratch, and claw your way through all that fur!!!
If you’re feeling lucky, then be sure to get your winning ticket during the 50/50 raffle AND be ready to claim your winning ticket for the numerous door prizes.

At midnight, the Motor City Bears will be holding two contests Friday Night. One will be for the “FURRIEST FACE” and another one for the “FURRIEST PITS,” so fluff that fur and be ready to WOW the judges!

Saturday Night: The weekend long party continues Saturday Night but with a special twist! The theme for the night will be “Measuring Up Your Bear” and everybody will get a ruler at door to use for the nights’ contests.
Again the Motor City Bears will be providing a light buffet with snacks and there will be door prizes as well as 50/50 drawings being held through the night.

Come midnight, though, everyone’s gonna be whipping out those rulers to start “Measuring Up Their Bear!” There will be prizes for the two bears who best measure up in “certain” categories, but you’ll have to come out and find out for yourself what THOSE categories are gonna be!!! Do you think you know??? Well, you might be right!!!

Sunday Night: Sunday, Diamond Jim’s opens at 5 p.m. with a Beer Bust and Cowboy Dance Lessons. On Sunday night the Wall-2-Wall Fur Bear Conclave Weekend 5.0 will end with "Bear-e-oke" fun with Tommy and Kevin. Pick out your favorite song and serenade that hot, furry bear you’ve been watching all weekend. Who knows, he might serenade you back!!!

Movie Night at Steve C’s 8:00pm - ?

One of our new members, Steve C., has graciously offering up his home to host a John Waters themed Movie Night. Although Steve lives a little outside the city, (he’s a little north of Ann Arbor), the event promises to be well worth the drive. Attendees will choose from a variety of John Waters’ movies for their viewing enjoyment. He will also be opening up his hot tub to anyone wants to use it (Be sure to bring your own towel and flip flops.)

Everyone is welcome to come out and join the Bears for a Special Easter Weekend bar night. In addition to the usual door prizes, we’re planning some special surprises!!! What’s gonna happen, you ask? Well, I’m hearing the Easter Bunny might be planning a “Best Basket” contest and maybe some special Easter Egg door prizes, but you’ll just hafta drop by and see what the Easter Bunny has in store for you!

Come on out and help your fellow bears win back the trophy we lost to the Huron Valley Bears last year! It promises to be a good natured grudge match to end all grudge matches! Just imagine the pressure… the drama… the FUN!!!

Cost includes three games of bowling, shoe rental, pizza and soft drinks. No bowling skill is needed since the games will include frames where we will be bowling backwards, with a friend, using the opposite hand, etc. (In other words, lots of laughs!!!) Come on out and join the Bears as we snatch the trophy back from Huron Valley, or at least die laughing while trying!!!

Space is limited for this event and we must make reservations for a certain number of lanes. Because of this, participants must pre-register no later than the MCB meeting on March 12th.
