Our general meetings are discussions of past and upcoming activities
mixed with club business and socializing. If you want to know if we're
the club for you, come check us out. Guests and visitors are always
welcome. Generally speaking, Diamond Jim's Saloon is located on Warren

Bears-n-Toboggans - 1:00pm-4:00pm The
Fridge Toboggan Run Scott Lake Road, Waterford (Directions)
(Between Dixie Highway & Watkins Lake Road)
$9.00 per person (Oakland County Residents: $7.00 per person)
The
bears are going to revisit an event which was popular in the past and
have some fun with it. Who says that bears can't relive their childhoods
and have some fun tobogganing? Come to think of it though, maybe it's a
childhood experience with a definite grown-up twist. Not too many spent
their "Wonder Years" getting a hot bear to sit between their legs while
they went for a quick ride... or did we?
Anyway "The Fridge" is a refrigerated toboggan run operated by the
Oakland County Parks & Rec Department. Up to four riders swoosh down a
55-foot drop, and zip along 1,000 feet at speeds in excess of 30 miles
per hour. The toboggans are provided by the park and, after the ride's
over, they are transported back to the top by park staff for another
ride. No more trudging up the hill pulling your toboggan along behind
you.
Wearing older and/or washable outerwear is recommended. Mittens or
gloves must be worn. Scarves and loose clothing must be tucked in
before riding. If you get chilled and need to warm up a bit, then the
Lookout Lodge warming building comes in handy with a
fireplace, restrooms, concessions, TV sets and viewing areas.
The Fridge has been featured in the Detroit Free Press and they have
named the "Best Slide" so come on out and try it for yourself!
