Food including hot dishes like Sloppy Joes and Mostaccioli Pasta. Also, Vegetable trays and deserts. If you have been to the Wall to Wall Fur party that we host, you know you will not leave hungry!

We will have contests including The "Best Bear Butt contest" and there will be prizes. We will also have drink specials, a 50/50 drawing and a lot more. This is the start of our big Pride weekend celebration and the word is getting out. We have placed ads and flyers for this big weekend of events locally and in other states as well. So come on out, meet your buddies and make a new friend or two.

The Motor City Bears are at it again, raising money for W.A.G.S.

Suggested Minimum donation ($4.00).  I know some of the bears have ordered special Speedo style bathing suits for this one.  Come on out and get your car washed, and/or dive in with a wash mitt and help out.  We also need some to help flag down cars as well or just hang out with the bears..  This is going to be a fun time.  Please post in the members Yahoo group if you want to help out.

Rumor has it that a bear car wash calendar may be a result of this event. Of course it will only be for those who want to be on a calendar.

Minimum donation of $8.00 includes all you can eat Spaghetti (Marinara or Meat sauce), Meatballs, Dinner Salad, soft drinks and Desserts. Remember no food fights, the car wash ended at 4 PM so we can't hose you down to clean you up. The food is going to be too good to waste anyway! So the big weekend celebration continues with good food, good friends and just another fun time. We need volunteers for this one as well. Our general meetings are discussions of past and upcoming activities mixed with club business and socializing. If you want to know if we're the club for you, come check us out. Guests and visitors are always welcome. Generally speaking, Diamond Jim's Saloon is located on Warren Ave., one short block east of Evergreen in Detroit. It's right by the Comerica Bank, and you can use their parking lot.

Our first picnic of the year is coming up soon.  This one is going to be at Metro Beach Metro Park  We hope to have a few boats from our members and maybe a few other gay owned boats.

Metro Beach Metro Park (Directions below).  We will meet at the east end of the sea wall on Black Creek.  This is near the group rental area and about half way out to the lake.  Basically if you walk along the sea wall until it ends you will find us.   It is also near a rest room and close to the beach for the swimmers / sun worshipers.  It is a walk from the parking lot but they do have the people mover train if you don’t want to walk it.  (Picture)

Food & Drinks

MCB will be providing Charcoal, Italian Sausage, Buns, Condiments and bone in Bar-b-q Chicken for the Grill. Please bring your favorite beverage as well as a dish to pass based on the first letter of your last name.  Alcohol is allowed but not in glass.

A-F:  Snacks, finger foods etc.
G-M:  Desserts
N-R:  Salads, cheese, deviled eggs, dip trays etc.
S-Z:  Picnic side dish

NOTE:  Metro Beach Metro Park does not allow any glass containers so make sure beverages as well as food dishes are not glass. Also, No pets.

Schedule:

Noon – 2:00 Meet and greet
2:00 - 3:00 Grilling up the food
3:00 - ?? – Eat, drink and be beary

Take I-94 to exit 236 (Metro Parkway) and drive east for three miles to the park entrance.

TIME
The beer tent (Actually an outdoors beer garden) will open for business at 8:00 PM. We will be working on the setup by about 5:00 PM but not everyone needs to be there that early. So if you are a little late that is OK.

PIZZA PARTY
We are also planning a little kick off pizza party at 7:00 PM so we hope to have most of the setup done by then.

We also found out that the Clarion Hotel has changed the room rate to $89.00 (new owners). We hear that the Red Roof Inn is close by and has the $69.00 Rate,
