Golden Corral Dinner Night 6:00pm - (EC -
Dennis G)
37101 Warren Rd
Westland, MI 48185 (Map)
(734) 641-9163
If I had a nickel for every time a bear talked about this restaurant, I
would be a rich man. If you have not been there before they you have to
go. It is a lot of good food and promises to be a great time. The
Menu is like four pages long,
so bring your appetite and be ready to feast!
Please let us know if you are coming to make
sure we have enough seats. Post in the Members only Yahoo
group or contact the EC above. We will probably have a banquet room so look for us
there.

Tribes Do A Fool Eye-opener - 10 AM - 11:30 AM (EC -
Ward L)
Corktown Inn
1331 Trumble St.
Detroit MI 48216
(866) 689-5683
Motor City Bears will be providing the eye
opener for Tribe's Do-A-Fool Run weekend. We need a group of 4 to
6 volunteers to go Tribe's host hotel and give out drinks for an hour or
two. MCB is hosting this again this year. All costs are
covered by MCB, we just need volunteers.
WE ARE ASKING EVERYONE TO DRESS ACCORDING TO
THE RUNS THEME, "PILLAGE AND PLUNDER" SO GET CREATIVE AND SURPRISE US AS
ONLY THE MCB CAN AND WILL!!!!
This year we have made this an
official event for MCB. If you have not been to this in the past then
you are really missing out on something really fun
This year our own, Ward Lambert is
taking part in the Tribe's production of “PIRATES
OF GRAB ASS". As always this is filled with wonderful Gay Humor and Innuendo, as
well as songs you will probably never forget once you've heard them in
this venue! There are 3 bears
in the show this year. If you want to find out who they are you will
just have to come see for yourself.
Tickets for the show with a Buffet
Style Dinner and OPEN BAR are discounted at $42 a ticket directly
through MCB until March 12th. After that tickets will be
$45.00. You can pay in person at most events, check through snail mail
or use the PayPal button below (cash or check preferred.)
They also do a nice pre-show with a
parade of colors where all the attending groups come up with the
banners. There are quite a few groups that do attend this, some are
from quite far away. It would be great to have a good turn out from MCB
to show our support. It really is a good deal when you get a full night
out with a play for a little over $40.
The big night is April 5th, 2008.
Doors and bar open at 6:30 p.m. dinner at 7:30ish show about 9 PM. Bar
will become a cash bar when the show starts.
Contact the
VP or Event Coordinator above for more information.
Final Deadline for tickets
will be March 29, 2008. Tickets may still be available at the
door for $50

A Day in
Detroit
- Slows Bar B Q - 1:00 pm (Website) (EC - Scott W)
This is just down the street from The Works and old
Tiger Stadium. This place was great last year so we are going
back again. It is the best bar-b-q that I have
ever had. I can understand why there is
normally a 2 hours wait for dinner. Lunch is a good time to get
in.
This year we are trying something different with our first ever :
" A Day in Detroit" Which includes:
Slow's (Lunch)
Detroit exploring
MCB Meeting
So the plan is to meet at Slows BBBQ for
lunch. Then we can review our options to go explore Detroit.
This way maybe a group might do the Science Center, some a museum, art
galleries, shopping etc. There is a great meat market in Mexican
town that I know some will want to go to sometime during the day.
Then it is off to the meeting.
Slows has limited seating so we can fit up to
20 people. Now there is a lot more seating and if you
just want to show up on your own that is up to you. It would just be at
a separate table. They also have a good size outdoor patio so if
the weather is good there should be a lot of tables.
So we will limit this sign up list to the first 20
members and their guest. let us know if you are coming.
Their menu is listed on the link above. They
also have a great selection of beers, both bottles and on tap plus a
full bar.

Our general meetings are discussions of past and upcoming activities
mixed with club business and socializing. If you want to know if we're
the club for you, come check us out. Guests and visitors are always
welcome. Generally speaking, Diamond Jim's Saloon is located on Warren
Ave., one short block east of Evergreen in Detroit. It's right by the
Comerica Bank, and you can use their parking lot.

Dinner
with the Bears
- Big Bear Lodge- 4:30 pm (Website) (EC -
Louis J)
Big Bear Lodge
25253 Telegraph Road
Brownstown, Michigan 48134
734.782.6600
This year it is a
double header of events with the dinner and a Tiger Baseball game
afterward. They are separate events and all are welcome to attend
either one or both (if tickets are still available for the game).
We Came to Big Bear
Lodge last year and had a good turn out. We don’t have that many events
south of Detroit and this brings out some of our members from down
Toledo way. It was a good time and very good food. The full menu is
listed on the website (link below)
Their website states:
“Welcome to Big Bear
Lodge, where the food's hearty, the campfire's warm and the people are
friendly. We invite you to join us for a delicious meal, hot from our
wood burning oven, in the rustic charm of our log cabin lodge. And, if
Woodrow the Bear swings by your table, be sure to say hello!”
Wonder if Woodrow
would be interested in doing a video with his fellow bears? Can he say
Woof?
Louis has stepped up
and is EC for this event. We are all set but we do need a head count
for this one. Please post in the members only Yahoo group or email EC
above We need to let them know by Wednesday, April 23, 2008.
Come on out, it will
be a fun time. We will be ordering from the full menu and they will do
separate checks.
Following this event at 8:05 PM
is a Tiger Baseball game event that Rob B is hosting. If you are
interested in going to the game please contact Rob B.
